Storm of Glory: St. Therese of Lisieux from 1897-2010

A mosaic in the Basilica at Lisieux: St. Therese with the Popes who honored her: Pius X, who introduced her cause in 1914 and prophetically called her "the greatest saint of modern times"; Benedict XV, who decreed in 1921 that she practiced "heroic virtue"; Pius XI, who canonized Therese in 1925 and named her patroness of missions, the equal of St. Francis Xavier, in 1927; and Pius XII, who declared her patroness of France, the equal of St. Joan of Arc, in 1944.
