Fr. Conrad de Meester wrote The Power of Confidence as a doctoral thesis in 1969.  Now that this new revised and updated edition is at last available in English, it is easy to see why the work made him famous as soon as it was pubilshed. Fr. Conrad traces the development of Therese's way with delicacy, detail, and unflinching attention to chronology.  It yields a harvest worthy of the care with which it was gathered.

To read the review of this book by Theresian scholar Rev. John Russell, O. Carm., that appeared in the Winter 2000 issue of Spiritual Life, click here.

Fr. Conrad edited this unique volume.  Richly illustrated with photos and documents of St. Therese and her milieu, it is much more than a photo album. The leading international Carmelite authorities on St. Therese collaborated on this volume to mark the centenary, in 1997, of her death. The book probes every phase of her life and the significance of her teaching. Old and new friends of Therese will treasure this tribute to the new Doctor of the Church from the members of her Order
